Sorry for the lack of posts and… communication with the outside world. I've been sick since Monday and am just getting back on my feet.
Unlike most every other company in the state, the Russell Trust Association is exempt from filing standard corporate reports with the Connecticut Secretary of State. By an act of the state legislature the company, founded in 1856, has not filed in over 60 years.
Who is the RTA? Before you go a-Googlin’, here’s couple of hints:
Their address is 64 High Street, New Haven, CT.
Prescott Bush was a senior partner of Brown Brothers Harriman, the sole trustee of RTA.

Russell Trust Association is the business entity (in fact, a 501(c)(3)) for Skull and Bones, that secret society made famous by George W Bush (and father, and grandfather) and John Kerry.
While the Scroll and Key Tomb property has been devauled in recent years (from $716,600 in 1999 to $301,420 today [login required]), the company reported $3,205,143 in assets on its 2004 Form 990.
Many organizations get the 501(c)(3) status and become tax exempt. I’m in one myself that’s trying to. What I’d like to know is why this particular organization has this status. What “educational” value does it provide?
The only thing I can’t confirm is the 1943 act, but it sounds credible.
