«A Few Thoughts on Jimmy's Seaside | Inspirations»

Morning on the Lake

After recovering from Friday night at Jimmy's Seaside, I spent Saturday night with Jen, Evan and Carrie at Dave and Shelly's on the lake in Shelton. We drank, talked and were generally merry.

Dave and I got to talking outside. I shared with him a feeling that had come over me earlier that day, listening to California Dreamin’ in the Springdale Diner. What hinders me the most these days can also be a starting point, those memories of times past, those moments I cherish. What I need to learn is how to feel as I do in those moments, outside of them. It's like Kesey’s “beyond acid” idea. In any case, it was better explained that night, on the water. I may revisit the idea in another post.

Moving on, I woke up the next morning at 7:20 on the L-shaped couch, gathered my things as to not bother Carrie, who was sleeping on the other part of the L, and walked outside.

This greeted me. I was awestruck.
